The Must-Have Sale

Seeing another Black Friday Sale Now keeps website owners working into the night! Spending time and money preparing your website for the big sale is time-consuming and sometimes not worth bothering with. However, we must keep up with our competitors, who seem to enjoy this day more than I do. This and Google’s algorithms are why I keep my websites updated with the Big Friday Sale.

So, below, I have some advice for first-time website owners or people looking to sell their websites. Ps. I am neither an IT person nor a developer, and I do not have any experience buying or selling anything. The advice is based only on things I have learned over the years.

New Websites Getting Found!

From the first day your website went live on the internet, getting found has been its biggest problem. Some go down the path of paying large amounts of money to Google to stay on Page One. Meanwhile, others spend time on SEO and hope to get on top of the Google pages organically.

You will need to spend your cash and work hard at optimizing your website so its pages are accessible for Google to rank and find. This process, Called Search Engine Optimization, requires a specialist’s help and can be expensive. But the higher you rank, the better your website will be.

First Impressions and Bounce Rate.

Your website is often a potential customer’s first interaction with your brand. For instance, if your site is slow or outdated, it will put customers off, and they will look elsewhere to spend their money. (This is called the bounce rate, where customers hop on and straight off again.)

So, keep your website updated and add fresh content regularly. Google search engines love relevant content, so keep yours fresh, and this will attract more organic traffic. (Like everyone is doing for the Black Friday Sale Now On).

Keep Your Customers Interested

The more engaging your website is, the longer people will look around it. For instance, keep your description accurate and informed. Also, to keep your website fresh and ranking high, keep your content unique to what you are selling or looking to get found for.

In addition, if you use pictures, keep them optimized for the web and alt-tagged. If you have several images for one item, each photo must have different alt-tags and be the correct size. Also, ensure your website is compatible with every device, including the mobile phone.

Keeping customers on your site encourages them to explore your goods and spend more.

Page Load Speed

Your customers have no patience; a slow website will lead to bounce-offs. So, optimize your website’s loading speed to keep visitors engaged. For example, compress images and ask your webmaster (The IT person) to leverage browser caching. There are also several programs you can buy that will keep your website running faster.

But Google is now getting most of its traffic from smartphones. Your website has to be 100% mobile-friendly to reduce bounce rates.

Regularly Updates

Keep your website updated with relevant content. This will benefit your SEO, keep your returning customers interested, and encourage them to return. In addition, have a blog for your site and share your insights and content with your customers.
